Observance of Anti-ragging week at Heritage Law College.

Heritage Law College Kolkata organized a Colloquium on ‘Contemporary Issues in Corporate and Economic Governance’ on 26th April 2019 at the Heritage campus which was addressed by Mr. Jayanta Mitra, Barrister & Senior Advocate, Calcutta High Court, Former Advocate General, Government of West Bengal as the Chief Guest. Mr. Mitra inaugurated the Colloquium in the presence of Prof. (Dr) S.S.Chatterji, Principal, Heritage Law College, Mr. Probir Roy, Director, Kalyan Bharti trust (KBT, Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, KBT, Prof. Santanu Mitra, Teacher-in-charge, Heritage Law College and other senior faculty and staff members of the Institute. During the inaugural address, Mr. Jayanta Mitra, Barrister and Senior Advocate, Calcutta High Court advised the future lawyers to love the subject Law and learn from experience and practical application. Also he said that the students are lucky to get such a platform at Heritage law College to excel with good faculty members and infrastructural facilities since during his time such facilities were unavailable.

CONCORD 2019 - the induction and orientation programme of the new batch of BALLB students of Heritage Law College Kolkata commenced on 5th August. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Ruma Pal, former Judge, Supreme Court of India as the Chief Guest along with Prof.(Dr) Anuradha Mukhopadhyay, Vice-chancellor, Diamond Harbour Women's University as the Special Guest and Mr. Shourya Mandal and Mr. Sumit Dhar, Partners, Fox & Mandal, LLP as the Guests of Honour for the programme. The programme also witnessed the presence of Shri V.Saran, Chairman, Heritage Law College, Shri P.K.Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, Dr. J.K.Das, Dean, Department of Law, Calcutta University, Prof. S.S.Chatterjee, Principal, Heritage Law College and Prof. K.K.Chaudhuri, Advisor, Kalyan Bharti Trust.

Participated in a thematic debate under Government of India on 4th June 2018,the topic was sustainable development which took place in Naba Ballyguange Mahavidyalayay organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra- Kolkata in collaboration with Dakshin kalikata krira- o- sanskriti Parishad (SEVA) and BISWA.

Heritage Law College believes that witnessing Court Proceedings is vital to be an excellent professional. Keeping this in mind, students of first semester BA LLB course from Heritage Law College visited Metropolitan Magistrate Court (Bankshall Court- Session Court) today to get a practical exposure about the court proceedings. There were 57 students in a group accompanied with 6 faculty and staff members. They were accompanied by Advocate Mr. Mohit Kumar Ghosh who took them to various chambers where court proceeding were taking place.


The students got an exposure of various cases practically being tackled by the prosecutor and the defendant. "Such visits gives a great exposure to the students," said Mr. Santanu Mitra, Teacher-in-charge, Heritage Law College. "We have started the law college this year and we are planning to add various other courses in the same college in legal education so that the students can get to choose variety of legal courses which are very much less in this part of the country," said Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata. On 24th August 2015, Hon'ble Mr. justice Altamas Kabir, Former Cheif Justice of Supreme Court had inaugurated Heritage law College unveiling the foundation stone in the presence of Dr. Partha Chatterjee, Minister-In-Charge, Higher & School Education & parliamentary Affairs.
